The student's work in the current semester builds on the knowledge and skills acquired in the previous studio teaching. The student's work in the studio places a high demand on a student, who is able to solve creative problems lying between art and social attitude, cultural responsibility and technological development. They must be able to see the project in a specific environment, in cultural and social contexts and be able to work with details even on a large spatial scale. The semestral work is completed with a final exam. The studio work includes not only the artistic creation itself, but also a discussion between students and teachers about theoretical and technical problems. The discussion in the studio is a continuous discourse on topics of artistic praxis and reflection of contemporary society. This permanent discussion helps to create independent creative personalities with their own, not only artistic, thinking.

Assessment methods and criteria

Presentation of artistic and creative activities
Students' academic progress and results are assessed through regular consultations regarding their projects. In the studios, students participate in a series of shared short assignments, partial submissions, presentations, and work-in-progress reviews, often attended by instructors from other studios as well as external guests. A minimum attendance of 75% is standard. The final evaluation of the assigned semester project always takes place in person, with the student presenting their work before a committee composed of instructors from other Fine Arts studios at FUA, a representative of the Department of Theory at FUA, and external guests. The assessment focuses on the overall impression of the artistic work and its quality in relation to the assigned topic and the work of other first-year students, as well as its technical execution and installation.
