The course focuses on topics and texts from the field of art, philosophy, architecture and urbanism, which embrace the issue of art in public space in the context of critical theory and current issues. Each student prepares an analysis and interpretation of the selected text during the semester. The purpose of the courses is to understand and critically interpret the main ideas and works of the selected author in the context of their thinking, epoque and current issues. Emphasis is placed on independent work with the text and discussion. The main topics are presented in lectures acquainting with the main notions and issues of theoretical thinking of the 20th and 21st centuries, supplemented by the context of artistic operation.
Basic knowledge of art history from the nineteenth century to the present. Familiarity with the main texts of art theory in the 20th century.
