Assessment methods and criteria

Knowledge and the ability to argue are assessed through discussions held directly at the sites of installations and exhibitions, in immediate and direct contact with artworks, environments, architecture, and public space. The ability to work with acquired knowledge is evaluated through a final essay. Essay topics are announced in advance and are based on the exhibitions and artistic projects visited during the semester. Both the content and the formal aspects of the essay are evaluated (use of references, structure of the text, argumentation skills, use of examples, authenticity and readability of the text, ability to use appropriate academic vocabulary, etc.). A minimum of 75% attendance at lectures and excursions is required for the essay to be accepted. The selection of individual excursions combined with lectures always depends on the current range of ongoing exhibitions, artistic interventions in public space, newly renovated or opened exhibition venues, memorials, architecture, or any other current manifestations related to contemporary art...
