Course content
1 - 14: Historical context in the work of an architect, work with historical heritage. Social context in the work of an architect. Different cultural environments and their effect on architecture. Structural and material context in the work of an architect. Sustainable development; energy efficient buildings. Natural environment and architecture. Media and architecture - mutual relations.

Learning outcomes
The students are acquainted, on the basis of examples of realizations and construction projects of important architects, with the artistic, technical and social dimensions of architecture. These aspects are related to the study of architecture at FUA and are intended to help them orient themselves in the chosen field as quickly as possible. Teaching is realized using the collections of art and architecture in the media library TUL and selected domestic and foreign professional servers. Teaching is designed into continuous lecture blocks of individual teachers. 1-14: Historical connections in the work of an architect, treatment of historical heritage. Social connection in the work of an architect. Different cultural environments and their influence on architecture. Structural and material connections in the work of an architect. Sustainable development, energy efficiency of buildings. Natural environment and architecture. Media and architecture - mutual relations.
