Course content
1 - 14: Historical context in the work of an architect, work with historical heritage. Social context in the work of an architect. Different cultural environments and their effect on architecture. Structural and material context in the work of an architect. Sustainable development; energy efficient buildings. Natural environment and architecture. Media and architecture - mutual relations.

Learning outcomes
Providing an overview of current architectural developments. Planting individual architectural scenes in mutual and historical relationship so that students do not orient themselves in them only on the basis of external forms of expression. The lecture series is a reaction to current events in architecture, new projects, evaluated competitions, realized constructions and just published books, which are viewed from many contexts. Teaching is designed as interaction between teacher and students. 1-14: Assignment of various model examples based on the architect's communication in his/her environment. The relationship, which should reflect current affairs and the development of the profession and means of communication. Interaction takes place on the basis of the assigned paper, comments to it by the teacher and the final presentation, when further questions are asked.
