The course is focused on monitoring changes in the appearance of cities and public space, especially in the Euro-Atlantic cultural environment. It deals with several insights: it monitors important public buildings, eventually, constructions that have had an obvious impact on the shared space cities; at the same time, it is clear that it is not possible to look only at individual buildings and it is necessary to pay attention to the organization of the space between houses. A logical part is following the history and strategies of involving art in public space. The first block works with a historical overview from antiquity to the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The aim is to create a clear outline of changes and to acquaint students with the basic orientation concepts of the topic. Students will be encouraged to participate actively based on texts from Vitruvio to Walter Benjamin.
