Learning outcomes
Lectures on the History of art and architecture 3 cover the Renaissance period, primarily the 15th and 16th centuries. The birth of the Renaissance is in Italy, specifically in Florence. The main conceptual changes in the conception of man and history, including the rationale of the Renaissance in Florence, are presented. Emphasis is placed on the diverse forms of the Renaissance, even within Italy, so attention is paid to both the distinctive individual artists (Brunelleschi, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Rafael, Palladio) and the places where the most important Renaissance works were created (e.g. Florence, Milan, Venice, Urbino). At the same time, the questioning of the binding norm of the High Renaissance by art which is often referred to as Mannerist is explained.
To develop the ability of reflection and contextual thinking. To grasp knowledge of relations of visual art and architecture of that period of time.
