The course deals with the 17th and 18th centuries, i.e. Baroque art. The basis is to differentiate the different forms of Baroque art. The introduction clearly explains the differences from the previous period, which are related to the period of recatholization and religious disputes in Europe, and names the basic general characteristics of the Baroque. Attention is paid to the time of transition, i.e. the end of the 16th century, and then the focus is on the main personalities such as Gianlorenzo Bernini, Francesco Borromini, Caravaggio, Rembrandt and Petr Paul Rubens. Through the works of these artists, the main motifs such as theatricality, rhetoric, emotionality, interconnection of reality and illusion are named and described.
