Course content
1. The art of abstract painting and ornaments (Katharina Grosse, Sarah Morris, Fred Tomaselli, Takashi Murakami). 2. Photograph as a medium of intimate picture (Nan Goldin, Boris Michailovw, Nobuzoshi Araki, Rineke Dijkstra, Thomas Ruff). 3. Photograph as a set-up reality (Jeff Wall, Sam Taylor-Wood, Teresa Hubbard, Alexander Birchler, James Coleman). 4. Performance (Erwin Wurm, Pul McCarthy, Vanessa Beecroft). 5. Obsession with physicality and pornography (Matthew Barney, Robert Gober). 6. Video art and the forms of drama (Katrine Dolven, Bill Viola, Matthew McCaslin).Pipilotti Rist). 7. The current trends in drawing: The influence of advertising and comics literature (Raymond Pettibon, Alexander Roob).

Learning outcomes
The course has a fixed structure. In the given semester responds to the latest events on the domestic and world art scene. The course focuses on the manifestations of contemporary visual arts and artistic realizations in public space. In the form of concise lectures and guided tours, it focuses on the basic directions of the development of world visual art (post-conceptual, video, action, new gender art, public art, new painting, computer art, etc.). At the same time, the emphasis is placed on immediate contact with works of art and contemporary Czech art. Some important personalities of the world art scene, which shape its present form will be analysed. Several personalities from the wide spectrum of the twentieth century will be selected with reference to their choice in the art world.
To grasp knowledge of common sources of contemporary art and architecture.
