Learning outcomes
The course is focused on the theoretical reflection of architecture, where the basis is the ability to understand not only the living environment, but also its more demanding texts. The teaching will emphasize the students' involvement, which should contribute to the development of their ability to analyse and interpret the text. This type of teaching is combined with the classical form of lectures, in which important thinkers will be introduced, whose reflections have had an obvious impact on the form of architecture or who have significantly contributed to its current understanding. Overview of topics: 1. Martin Heidegger 2. Martin Heidegger and architecture 3. Christian Norberg-Schulz I 4. Christian Norberg-Schulz II 5. Karsten Harries 6. Maurice Merleau-Ponty and architecture 7. Juhani Pallasmaa
