Learning outcomes |
The course extends the ability to critically reflect and interpret current events in architecture in regional and global contexts. The course program changes every semester and focuses on one topic, defined by city, country or region. The students are guided to the ability to accurately describe, analyse and interpret architecture; as well as to getting to know architectural culture elsewhere and to better cope with the situation at home. Teaching combines lessons in the classroom and in the field and includes meetings and discussions with relevant stakeholders - architects, historians, theorists and critics of architecture, curators and others. If possible, it will be followed by a field trip. Overview of topics - contemporary architecture: 1. Switzerland 2. Austria 3. The Netherlands 4. Slovenia 5. Denmark 6. Japan
