  • Class attendance - 42 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 45 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of teaching Technical Equipment of Buildings 2 is for the students to gain a basic overview and skills in designing heating, ventilation and cooling systems for small and large buildings and to get acquainted with the basics of electricity distribution in the building for the purposes of the architect. I. e. to have an overview and idea of the dimensions of individual distributions, the possibilities and ways of their management and coordination within the building. The seminars follow and correspond with lectures and the solution of family houses from the subject TZ1 is continued. The subject matter is first explained in lectures and then practically verified on the project of a smaller family house (heating, vacuum ventilation and the house's main electricity distribution) and the project of an industrial building (ventilation). Overview of lectures: 1. Introduction, getting familiar with the issue - concept of the course, method of assessment 2. Heating - comfort of the environment, heating systems 3. Heating - heat sources, radiators 4. Ventilation - types of ventilation, vacuum ventilation 5. Ventilation - large objects 6. Cooling - basics, cooling systems 7. Power distribution of electricity in the building Seminar overview: 1. Heating of a family house 2. Heating of a family house - heat losses, design of a heat source and radiators 3. Heating of the hall building 4. Ventilation of a family house 5. Ventilation/cooling of the hall building 6. Main house electricity distribution 7. Consultations, completion
The second of three-semestral course of technical systems in buildings. The student will be able to orientate oneself in problems of building heating systems.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Written exam, Practical demonstration of acquired skills

A year's project for this term; the family house from the previous exercises in civil engineering will be used; a heat source and a heating system based on radiators and floor heating will be designed for this house. Form: Computer + hard copy, including a technical report; defending the design is a part of receiving credit for the subject TZB1 (Technical Equipment of Buildings 1) and a condition for being admitted to the examination in the subject TZB2 (Technical Equipment of Buildings 2). Attendance at lectures is required. Credit for TZB1 (Technical Equipment of Buildings 1) is given for the whole year's project during the examination in TZB2 (see the description of the subject TZB2).
