Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing)
  • Class attendance - 42 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 20 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Introduction to energy and energy assessment of buildings, their classification and the possibility of achieving the required energy class or improving the current situation by involving alternative energy sources. Teaching will be designed as a lecture block and subsequent implementation of information on the selected object (new building, reconstruction, smaller building). Emphasis will be placed not only on the application of technology to the building, but mainly on the work of the architect when designing an energy-efficient building - the orientation, shape design of the object, choice of material and incorporation of elements of the so-called passive solar architecture (heavy accumulation structure, Trombe walls, hanging walls ...). The output will be the students' individual project where they will practically use the information from lectures in the design or assessment of the selected object, i.e. they will design the building, classify it thermo-technically, assess it energetically and perform only an approximate calculation of costs, so that they know approximately what the return on the investment is. Overview of lectures: 1. Introduction to the issue, course schedule, overview of renewable energy sources 2. Solar energy and passive solar architecture 3. Active solar systems 4. Low potential energy - heat pumps 5. High potential energy - geothermal energy 6. Wind and water energy (Ing. Arch. Karolína Falladová) 7. Biomass 8. Energy utilization of waste, intelligent territory 9. Energy potential of wastewater, reuse of rainwater and grey sewage Seminar overview: 1. Thermal assessment of a selected object, its classification into energy class, proposal of measures to improve the energy situation 2. Possibility to use renewable heat sources for the given object (also economic insight) 3. Evaluation of a new, more energy-efficient condition of a given object 4. Consultations, completion 5. Presentation of proposals
The third of three-semestral course of technical systems in buildings. The student will be able to orientate oneself in problems of electricity of buildings and using of water for pools, spa, and fire protection systems.
