Course content
1. Basic monitoring of basic physiological functions a. The Content of lecture: monitoring technology of cardiovascular system b. The Content of training: practical demonstration of monitoring equipment (monitor, LIFEPAK) training and monitoring of the cardiovascular system using by Simman 2. Basic monitoring of basic physiological functions a.The Content of lecture: respiratory parameters and internal middle, consciousness b. The Content of training: practical training of monitoring breathing, consciousness using by Simman 3. Ensuring the bloodstream and its specifics in the prehospital and hospital practice a. The Content of lecture: central venous catheter - permanent, dialysis, temporary specifics of securing peripheral venous catheter rotation inputs eg. at burns unconventional inputs into the peripheral vasculature, intraosseous input, AV shunt and more b. The Content of training: Implementation or assistance inputs into the bloodstream, including nursing care approaches introduced into the bloodstream 4. Acute immediate treatment at the Emergency Department a. The Content of lecture: chest puncture, ascites puncture, the introduction of controlled hypothermia and more b. The Content of training: Practical demonstration aids to acute performances at the Emergency Department, including assistance and nursing care for the drains and catheters introduced. 5. Specifics of pharmacology in acute critical conditions a. The Content of lecture: pharmacology promote of blood circulation, specifications medicines to maintain the internal environment, inhalation drugs and their specificity for acute conditions (status asthmaticus, acute exacerbation of COPD), diuretics, muscle relaxants, hypnotics and others. b. The Content of training: the specifics of nursing care of patients with continuous support circulation and diuresis myorelaxation. Specifics administration of inhalation medicaments in a patient with a tracheostomy or endotracheal tube at the MV ( mechanical ventilation). 6. Oxygen and airway management a. The Content of lecture: tools to ensure that the upper and lower respiratory tract competence to use their by nurse b. The Content of training: practical training introduction or assistance with the introduction of devices to ensure the upper and lower respiratory tract, including nursing care established tubes and cannulas. 7. Mechanical ventilation from the perspective of nurse a. The Content of lecture: invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, the possibility of securing MV in home care b. The Content of training: practical training of nursing care for the patient at the MV 8. Anaesthesia of patient care in acute and critical condition a. The Content of lecture: types of anesthesia, conduction anesthesia, ASA score, nursing care for patients in the acute postoperative period b. The Content of training: practical demonstration of equipment used in anesthetics, including the preparation of sterile table and equipment (local anesthesia, nerve-block anesthesia, general anesthesia)

Learning outcomes
The subject deals with clinical states which can directly threaten life of a man. It introduces the bases of the first aid in the field, treatment, specific life saving procedures and adequate nursing care for patients at departments of emergency, resuscitation and intensive care.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.
