1. General foundations of the theory of electric and magnetic fields 2. Bioelectrical activity of the cells, the action potential propagation 3. Methods of scanning and digital signal processing 4. The electrical activity of the heart, electrocardiography, electromyography, electroencephalography, electrooculography 5. Use of electric and magnetic fields to treat - electrotherapy, electrical stimulation of the heart, electrosurgery, hyperthermia 6. Use of electric and magnetic fields to diagnose - electrical impedance tomography, pletysmography 7. Principles of magnetic resonance imaging

Learning outcomes
|
Goal of the subject is to show connections between sensing biopotentials and bioelectromagnetic effects inside biological object with utilization of basic knowledge about electromagnetic field.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Combined examination
Requirements for credit: Attendance at seminars, the successful completion of a set laboratory task, presentation, successful written test. Requirements for the exam: Pass the exam from MTI/TEE. Reaching terms of credit. Oral examination of the material covered in lectures and seminars. 1. Electrostatic field 2. Electrostatic field in general environment 3. Stationary current field 4.
