Course content
Lectures: 1) PC basics: basic computer components and peripherals, MS Windows operating system, basics of working with information systems 2) Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint 3) Information systems in healthcare, database systems, information security, sensitive data, GDPR 4) Basics of statistical analysis and their use in nursing practice, interpretation of results. 5) Statistical testing: formulation of hypotheses, types of tests. Exercises: 1) Working with information systems. 1) Assignment of independent work/assignment. 2) Practical problem solving in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint. 3) Practical problem solving in MediCalc hospital information system, basics of e-health. 4) Research sample, measurement and data acquisition methods, pilot study 5) Statistical testing. Evaluation of independent work.

Learning outcomes
The course is designed as practical and provides an introduction to the use of various software files, clinical information systems, word processing, data presentation, statistical analysis. It provides information about statistical data processing and its use in nursing practice.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Oral presentation of self-study

Credit: - 80% participation in exercises, - teaching activity, - preparation of independent work / tasks
