Course content
1. Organization of clinical biochemistry, work safety in clinical biochemistry, good laboratory practice, organization clinical biochemistry services. 2. Clinical Biochemistry urine - collecting, physical examination, chemical analysis - detection of proteins, blood ketone bodies, glucose, bile pigments, urinary sediment, renal function tests. 3. Hyperlipidaemia, cholesterol determination. Investigations of enzymes, cardiac, oncological markers examination hormones. 4. Examination of liver function. Diabetes mellitus, oGTT, self monitoring, analysis of blood on the meter. Examination of the acid-base balance, metabolism ions. 5. Analysis of the cerebrospinal fluid, electrophoretic methods, molecular biology methods, PCR analysis.

Learning outcomes
Clinical Biochemistry introduces basic knowledge from the area of clinical biochemistry which is followed by other subject of nursing. The subject offers information about biochemical balance of the organism's inner environment, biochemical changes in the organism during illnesses, then it introduces methods and techniques of taking of biological material.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.
