Course content
|
Lectures: 1) Introduction to clinical hematology, basic terminology, basic knowledge of hematopoiesis, overview of laboratory methods 2) Morphological hematological examinations and their interpretation 3) Tests for examination of haemostasis and their interpretation, specific examinations in haematological diseases 4) Introduction to transfusiology, indication of haemotherapy, adverse effects, application of transfusions 5) Immunohematological examinations, antibodies, blood groups, pre-transfusion examinations; indications of haemotherapy, adverse reactions

Learning outcomes
|
Learning outcomes of the course unit The subject acquaints with basic knowledge of clinical hematology. It provides information on basic and special examination methods, occupational safety in clinical hematology, organization of clinical hematology services. It introduces the basic principles of transfusion medicine.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
