Course content
Lectures: 1) Basic terms 1 (symptoms, syndrome, etiology, pathogenesis, disease course, complications, prophylaxis, prevention, prevalence, incidence, monitoring of vital functions) 2) History - in general, parts; physical examination (5 P) 3) General examination (consciousness, habitus, position, voice, skin and adnexa, temperature, swelling); head and neck examination 4) Vascular examination, heart examination (medical history, physical examination, methods) 5) ECG - principles, basic diagnostics, monitoring possibilities 6) Subjective and objective symptoms of heart and blood vessel diseases 7) Examination of the lungs, ventilation disorders, thoracic puncture; subjective and objective symptoms of respiratory diseases, chest examination 8) Subjective and objective symptoms of gastrointestinal diseases, main examination methods 9) Examination of abdomen and gastrointestinal tract, sudden abdominal events (medical history, physical examination) 10) Examination of the musculoskeletal system 11) Examination of liver, gallbladder, pancreas 12) Examination of kidneys and urinary tract (medical history, physical examination, methods) 13) Symptoms of endocrine system diseases, examination methods; diabetes mellitus and complications, examination methods 14) Disorders of the internal environment, acid-base balance; examination methods in haematopoietic disorders, blood transfusion

Learning outcomes
The subject includes information about symptomatology of system diseases, diagnostic examination methods in individual branches of medicines, basic techniques and procedures of physical examination needed for nursing diagnosis, plan and realisation of nursing care.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Classified credit: - self-study, - 80% attendance in lectures, - 75% success in the written test, - oral exam.
