Course content
Lectures: 1) Definition of communication, assumptions of communication, its importance; communication axioms 2) Self-esteem as the basis of open communication; the emotional intelligence 3) Nonverbal communication; interpretation, first impression, self - presentation, influence 4) Verbal communication; interview, dialogue, listening 5) Synergies in communication; communication barriers; communication disorders, conflict 6) Assertive communication for healthy self-assertion and defense against manipulation 7) Public speech, presentation; mass communication, its effects on humans; family communication; communication at school Exercises: 1) Communication techniques 2) Self-esteem and emotional intelligence 3) Nonverbal communication, self-presentation 4) Verbal communication, interview, dialogue, listening 5) Barriers and communication disorders, conflict 6) Assertive communication 7) Public speech, presentation

Learning outcomes
The course is classified as a compulsory subject of the scientific background. It is conceived as a theoretical-practical unit. It creates the basics of professional knowledge and skills in performing the medical profession. Students will learn the necessary adequate communication skills not only with the sick, but also with colleagues.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Written exam

Credit: - model presentation of a given topic, - written test.
