Course content
Lectures: 1) Introduction to the subject of health services management, goals of the subject 2) The role of biomedical engineer in clinical practice 3) Health services, historical notes, basic concepts and definitions based on the law 4) Management, basic concepts and definitions; historical development of management 5) Planning, strategic planning, operational planning 6) Organization, systemization, organizational structures 7) Leadership, coaching, communication, motivation; manager personality 8) Human resources, human resources management; education 9) Quality control in health care 10) Standards, audits, accreditation, certification 11) Clinical management, patient management, disease management 12) Management of medical facilities at strategic level, structure, management and operation of medical facilities, facility management 13) Crisis situations and their solution, management of changes in health care 14) Medical documentation

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquaint and teach students to work with basic concepts, principles, processes and skills in the management of health services. The course acquaints students with the concepts and legislative basis of health services according to Act No. 372/2011 Coll. and with the principles of modern management in general.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Combined examination

Credit: - self-study, - written test. Exam: - oral exam.
