Course content
Lectures: 1) Basics of general neurology; specialization of the field; basics of clinical examination, clinical pictures in neurological diseases 2) Auxiliary examination methods in neurology (CT, MR, EEG, EMG, sonography ...); modern trends in the diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases 3) Stroke 4) Expansive processes of the CNS; epilepsy; craniocerebral injury 5) Infectious diseases of the brain and meninges 6) Vertebrogenic diseases; diseases of the skeletal muscle system 7) Demyelinating and degenerative diseases of the CNS; extrapyramidal system and its disorders Exercises: 1) Urgent and follow-up care for a patient with a stroke 2) Urgent and follow-up care for a patient with intracranial hypertension (including the specifics of nursing care for the ICP sensor) 3) Urgent and follow-up care in a patient with an epileptic seizure 4) Urgent and follow-up care for a patient with dorsalgia

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to get acquainted with the theoretical and practical issues of the field of neurology, to integrate the acquired knowledge in nursing care in the field of neurology, to use selected theories and nursing models, to characterize the specifics of the nursing process in neurological nursing.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Oral exam, Test

Credit: - 80% participation in exercises, - credit test. Exam: - oral exam.
