Course content
Lectures: 1) Basics of general neurology; specialization of the field; basics of clinical examination, clinical images in neurological diseases 2) Auxiliary examination methods in neurology (CT, MR, EEG, EMG, sonography ...); modern trends in diagnostics and therapy of cerebrovascular diseases 3) Stroke 4) Expansive CNS processes; epilepsy; craniocerebral injury 5) Infectious diseases of the brain and brain envelopes 6) Vertebrogenic disease; skeletal muscle system diseases 7) Demyelinating and degenerative CNS diseases; extrapyramidal system and its disorders Exercises: 1) Urgent and follow-up care in a patient with stroke 2) Urgent and follow-up care in patients with intracranial hypertension (including the specifics of nursing care for ICP sensor) 3) Urgent and follow-up care in a patient with epileptic seizure 4) Urgent and follow-up care in a patient with dorsalgia

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquaint with theoretical and practical problems of neurology, integrate acquired knowledge in nursing care in the field of neurology, to use selected theories and nursing models, to characterize the specifics of the nursing process in neurological nursing.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Oral exam, Test

Credit: - 80% participation in exercises, - credit test. Exam: - oral exam.
