Course content
Lectures: 1) Plastic surgery (plastic surgery procedures, burns) 2) Abdominal wall diseases - hernia, anorectal diseases. 3) Diseases of veins and arteries. Thrombosis and embolism. Amputation. Diseases of the thyroid gland and diseases of the larynx. 4) Transplantology (general characteristics of transplantation, heart and lung transplantation, transplantation of abdominal and other organs: kidney, liver, pancreas, intestine). 5) Urology (congenital developmental defects, urolithiasis, prostate diseases, inflammation, other urological diseases) 6) Diseases of the biliary tract and pancreas. Exercises: 1) Nursing process in the burn trauma patient. 2) Nursing process in patient with venous, arterial disease, amputation. 3) Nursing process in a patient after laryngectomy after strumectomy. 4) Nursing process in patient with renal disease, renal colic. 5) Nursing process in patient with gallbladder and biliary tract disease, pancreatitis. 6) Nursing process in a patient with NPB.

Learning outcomes
The subject Nursing Care in Surgical Fields 1-2 is conceived as theoretical-practical. It characterizes clinical conditions in surgical fields in terms of nursing care and needs of patients altered in connection with surgical diseases of respiratory, digestive and cardiovascular tract, kidneys and urinary tract, central nervous system, etc. focused on effective solutions of nursing problems of patients in abdominal and thoracic surgery, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, in the surgical fields of urology, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, transplantology and oncosurgery etc.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Didactic test

Classified credit: - 80% attendance at exercises, - passing the test.
