Course content
Professional experience: Clinical workplaces: 350 hours (7 weeks) Workplace using diagnostic medical devices: 100 hours (2 weeks) Workplaces using therapeutic medical devices: 100 hours (2 weeks) Workplaces using laboratory medical devices: 100 hours (2 weeks) Workplaces related to medical devices (manufacturing companies, companies, institutions and companies of the branch): 50 hours (1 week) Professional practice 2 takes place in clinical workplaces under the guidance of biomedical technicians, professional mentors, assistant professors or, in justified cases, other health professionals authorized to pursue the medical profession without professional supervision. The mentor conducts professional practice in the area in which he is an expert and at the same time is responsible for clinical supervision in the practice of students. A clinical assistant professor or mentor is a qualified expert in his / her field and has suitable preparation for the pedagogical guidance of the student. The assistant or mentor evaluates the student in the Journal of Professional Practice, where he / she records the student's attendance and performance of individual practical activities on a daily basis. At the beginning of practice at the department, the assistant or mentor sets pedagogical goals, which he documents and evaluates together with the student in the pedagogical documentation, and also elaborates the student's evaluation. Clinical workplaces for teaching are selected according to the requirements of valid legislation. Their validity and compliance is contractually ensured. The scope and content of Professional Practice 2 is defined by the curriculum (hourly scope, specialized workplaces) and the TUL schedule (time schedule). Students will learn about diagnostic and therapeutic devices used in cardiology, cardiosurgery, ARO, basic vital signs monitors, defibrillators, pacemakers, counter-pulsators, electrocauters, extracorporeal circulation and mechanical cardiac support, ECG devices including ambulatory recorders, echocardiographs apparatus, apparatus for functional diagnostics in cardiology, recording equipment for catheterization halls (hemodynamic laboratories), recording equipment for electrophysiology, modern mapping systems for electrophysiology, anesthesiology equipment, apparatus for hemodialysis, haemofiltration, laboratory instruments, etc.

Learning outcomes
The course is an essential part of the complex of theoretical and practical study plan subjects. The course Professional Practice 2 enables students to apply acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the conditions of clinical workplaces obtained by studying theoretical and theoretical-practical subjects in classrooms and laboratories. Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquire and deepen the knowledge and skills necessary for the practice of the non-medical health care profession.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Case history method, Practical exam

Credit: - Attendance at practice: 100% (duly completed and confirmed in the Professional Practice Log) and assistant professor at the Faculty of Health Studies, - assessment of knowledge and skills for individual clinical departments / departments. Exam: - conducting a practical examination at a clinical site before the examination board. Further requirements for the student: - valid vaccination against hepatitis B, training in OSH and FP.
