Course content
Lectures: 1) Infectious medicine and its content, classification among medical disciplines 2) Diagnostic methods, preparation of patient before and after examination 3) Psychological aspects of the disease, the need for isolation, communication and contact with the patient's family; legislative and moral aspects of the disease; prevention Selected infectious diseases. 5) Selected infectious diseases 2., HIV disease Exercises: 1) Importance of general nurse in infectious medicine 2) Principles of barrier nursing care and compulsory isolation in selected diseases 3) Nursing process in a patient with selected infectious diseases (including HIV)

Learning outcomes
The course is designed as theoretical-practical. It focuses on patients of all ages who show clinical or laboratory signs of infectious disease. It focuses on early identification of infectious diseases, principles of barrier nursing care and compulsory isolation in selected diseases. It acquaints students with the peculiarities of assessing the needs of individuals with infectious diseases so that they are able to provide quality nursing care in close cooperation with the patient's family.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Test

Classified credit: - 80% participation in exercises, - passing the test.
