Learning outcomes
|
The course provides basic knowledge of English professional terminology. The aim is to deepen and acquire broader knowledge and skills in writing and reading English texts, to sort and work with information, to acquire learning strategies for self-study and to further use the language in everyday situations and in professional practice. The course is aimed at creating further prerequisites for further development of general and professional communication. It focuses mainly on the training and development of language skills (with an emphasis on grammar and vocabulary) and speech skills (with an emphasis on oral and reading comprehension). The consolidation and deepening of grammatical and lexical means will take place inter alia in the form of or translation exercises from a selected English textbook, with the support of the e-learning environment. Working with specialized texts and authentic audio-visual activities will serve for the development of general professional communication. Students will acquire knowledge of basic English medical terminology in given topics. Students will understand English medical or non-medical texts. Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to equip students with competencies in the area of ??professional language at the level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam
Credit: - 80% participation in exercises, - presentations on a selected topic, - individual work and homework in an e-learning course environment, - written credit test (min. 60% correct answers).
