Course content
The subject is a basic part of a block of theoretical-practical subjects of nursing and medicine. It is focused on acquiring of complex theoretical knowledge and practical skills from theory and practice in state and private institutions in the framework of the structure of health care and social care. Practical instruction enables to acquire manual skills, the confidence of safe and quality performance of nursing acts and nursing processes with regard to individual needs of clients/patients (K/P). The subject enables the application of gained theoretical knowledge to nursing practice at basic and specialised clinical departments. Clinical wards for instruction are chosen on the basis of set standards whose validity and observance is guaranteed by a contract. The extent and content of nursing practice is set in the study plan. Educational aims of the subject: 1) To acquire the knowledge and skill needed for safe practice in satisfying biological, psychical and social needs of K/P. 2) Use active and individualized nursing care realized in nursing process. 3) To acquire knowledge about the organization of work at a nursing unit and nurses' position in it. 4) Cooperate within the medical team and learn how to work with medical documentation. 5) To extend the acquired knowledge and skills in natural conditions while nursing sick K/P. 6) To gain self-reliance and self-confidence. 7) Develop communication skills with K/P with respect to their personal and cultural specifics. 8) Prefer human holistic approach to K/P. Form professional ethic and moral qualities. 9) The knowledge and maintenance of the rules of safety and health protection at work. Nursing Practice takes place at the clinics under the direction of assistant professor and mentor nursing. Mentor leading professional experience in a field of professional nursing practice , which is also a specialist in this area is responsible for the clinical supervision of students during practice . Assistant professor and mentor in clinical practice is a qualified expert in his field and has appropriate preparation for teaching student leadership . Mentor, assistant professor evaluates student Diary of professional experience , where daily student attendance records , nursing interventions , nursing processes . When you start to experience separation mentor and lecturer sets its educational objectives , documenting and evaluating together with students in pedagogical documentation. It also prepares the student evaluation . Keeping nursing documentation and defense of the nursing process in selected patients, including complete processing of nursing documentation (defense of the methodology and management of nursing care provided ) . The clinical facilities for teaching are selected on the basis of the national standards. Their validity and compliance is contracted . The scope and content of professional nursing practice is defined by the study plan (hourly range , professional workstations) and TUL schedule ( timing ) , character study nursing and internal regulation , which provides formal and substantive conditions of professional nursing practice. Departments of professional practice: 1. Department of Surgery 110 hours 2. Department of Internal Medicine 110 hours 3. Gynecological separate 100 hours

Learning outcomes
