Course content
The subject enables the application of gained theoretical knowledge to nursing practice at basic and specialised clinical departments. A part of the nursing practice is the nurse documentation keeping, the defence of the nursing process in a selected patient including the complex nurse documentation processing. On the basis of the written recommendation of the institute students are placed at specialized workplaces in the area of primary, secondary or tertiary care where they, according to the set plan of activities and under the supervision of an experienced assistant from clinical, gain basic and more advanced skills in the care for the needs of the ill. Students learn to understand the differences in needs satisfaction in healthy, sick, handicapped and dying clients. . Educational aims of the subject: 1) To acquire the knowledge and skill needed for safe practice in satisfying biological, psychical and social needs of K/P. 2) Use active and individualized nursing care realized in nursing process. 3) To acquire knowledge about the organization of work at a nursing unit and nurses' position in it. 4) Cooperate within the medical team. 5) Learn how to work with medical documentation. 6) To extend the acquired knowledge and skills in natural conditions while nursing sick K/P. 7) To gain self-reliance and self-confidence. 8) Develop communication skills with K/P with respect to their personal and cultural specifics. 9) Prefer human holistic approach to K/P. 10) Form professional ethic and moral qualities. 11) The knowledge and maintenance of the rules of safety and health protection at work. The subject enables the application of gained theoretical knowledge to nursing practice at basic and specialised clinical departments. Nurse documentation keeping (the defence of the method and management of the provided care). The nurse documentation needs to be kept for at least five days.

Learning outcomes
The subject enables the application of gained theoretical knowledge to nursing practice at basic and specialised clinical wards. A part of the nursing practice is keeping the nurse documentation, defence of a nursing procedure for a selected patient including processing of complex nurse documentation.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.
