Course content
Lectures: 1) Nursing as a scientific discipline 2) Philosophical aspects in nursing, social context of nursing practice, value system 3) The concept of Czech nursing Historical context of non - medical health care disciplines Historical context of non - medical health care disciplines 2 6) Education of non-medical health workers 7) International activities aimed at transformation of nursing 8) Methods and systems of nursing care provision, nursing team 9) Professional organizations of non-medical healthcare workers

Learning outcomes
The course is designed as theoretical. The subject Nursing 1 and 2 systematically defines nursing as a modern scientific discipline with its own philosophy, value system, subject of investigation, theoretical models, standard terminology, classification systems and methodology. It introduces the historical development of nursing in the Czech Republic and in the world, the main tasks and functions of nursing in society and current trends of progressive development related to increasing the efficiency of health systems and ensuring the quality of health care of the population.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.
