Course content
Workplace: - ICU of surgical specialties (2 weeks) - ICU of internal medicine (2 weeks) Professional practice 2 takes place at clinical workplaces under the guidance of a professional mentor or assistant professor. The mentor leads professional practice in such an area of professional practice in which he is an expert and at the same time in this area he is responsible for clinical supervision during students' practice. An assistant professor or mentor from clinical practice is a qualified expert in his / her field and has suitable training for pedagogical guidance of a student. The assistant professor or mentor evaluates the student in the Diary of Professional Practice, where he / she records the student's attendance and the fulfillment of individual practical performances on a daily basis. When starting an internship at the department, a professional assistant or mentor sets pedagogical goals, which he / she documents and evaluates together with the student in the pedagogical documentation, also elaborates the evaluation of the student. Clinical workplaces for teaching are selected on the basis of valid legislation. Their validity and compliance is contractually ensured. Range and the content of Professional Practice 2 is defined by the study plan (hourly range, professional workplaces) and the TUL schedule (time schedule).

Learning outcomes
The course is a basic part of a complex of theoretical and practical subjects of the study plan. The course allows students apply the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the conditions of clinical workplaces acquired by study theoretical and theoretical-practical subjects. The aim of the course is to acquire and improve practical skills and habits leading to achieving a graduate profile for the implementation of specific nursing care in the provision pre-hospital emergency care, and in the provision of acute intensive inpatient care, including emergency care. Furthermore, to teach students independence, responsibility and integration into the medical team in the clinical workplace.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Practical exam

Credit: - internship: 100% (duly completed and confirmed in the Diary), - in case of absence, it is necessary to replace the internship after an agreement at the given workplace and with an assistant professor at the Faculty of Health Studies, - assessment of knowledge and skills for individual clinical workplaces / departments, - performing a practical examination at the clinical workplace in front of the examination commission. Additional requirements for the student: - valid vaccination against hepatitis B, training in occupational health and safety and fire safety.
