Course content
Lectures: 1) General pathology: the role of pathology, basic examination, inflammation, oncology 2) Special pathology 1: circulatory system pathology; pathology of the respiratory system; gastrointestinal pathology 3) Special pathology 2: urinary system pathology, genital system pathology; pathology of the nervous system 4) Special pathology 3: pathology of the musculoskeletal system; pathology of endocrinology, skin and sensory organs 5) Pathophysiology of the cardiovascular system; pathophysiology of the respiratory system 6) Pathophysiology of blood and hemocoagulation; the digestive system; 7) Pathophysiology of inflammation and sepsis, endocrine system, excretory system 8) Pathophysiology of basic types of disorders of water and salt management, disorders of acid-base balance, significant metabolic disorders 9) Pathophysiology of the nervous system, acute conditions Exercises: 1) General pathology 2) Special pathology 3) Pathophysiology of selected systems 1 4) Pathophysiology of selected systems 2 5) Excursion to the Department of Pathology

Learning outcomes
The course is designed as theoretical and practical. It provides students with general knowledge of pathological processes occurring in individual tissues, organs, organ systems and organism. It includes the area of pathological anatomy and pathological physiology. Students will acquire basic knowledge of disease states.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Credit: - 80% participation in exercises, - self-study, - activity during exercises. Exam: - oral exam.
