Course content
Lectures: 1) History of interventional radiology, digital subtraction angiography, FP CT, 3D RA - principles of imaging, hardware, performance strategy; intervention; IVUS 2) Examination procedures, risks and complications of procedures, preparation for examination and treatment after the procedure, access paths for angiographic examinations; instrumentation, stents, embolization material, contrast agents 3) Examination of brain vessels and carotid arteries; interventional procedures on cerebral vessels and carotid arteries 4) Examination of individual parts of the aorta; examination of visceral arteries; interventional procedures on the aorta and visceral vessels, TIPS 5) Procedure for examination of the arteries of the pelvic bed, arteries of the lower limbs and arteries of the upper limbs; intervention interventions on the arteries of the pelvic bed, the arteries of the lower and upper limbs; procedure of examination of the spinal arteries, intervention in the venous system HK and DK 6) Non-vascular intervention - puncture, biopsy, collection drainage, RFA, microwave ablation, electroporation, PRT and spine intervention, ozonotherapy; vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty 7) Coronarography, invasive cardiology Exercises: 1) Interventional radiology, digital subtraction angiography, flat-panel CT, 3D rotational angiography 2) Interventional radiology - preparation for examination, treatment after surgery, puncture sites, instrumentarium, used contrast agents 3) Angiography of cervical and cerebral vessels - examination procedures and interventions on cerebral vessels 4) Interventional procedures on the aorta and visceral arteries 5) Angiography and intervention on the vessels of the pelvic bed, upper and lower limbs and spinal arteries 6) Non-vascular intervention - technique, materials, biopsy cannon, navigation technique under CT, ultrasound 7) Examination procedures and procedures on coronary arteries, invasive cardiology

Learning outcomes
The course acquaints students with the history of interventional radiology, developmental requirements for the work of a radiological assistant, preparation of patients for angiographic examinations, including their course. Students will acquire knowledge and skills in the field of interventional radiology, individual examinations and interventional procedures, data processing and postprocessing. It is a follow-up to the course Radiodiagnostics 2. Students will acquire, practice and complete the knowledge and skills that will be applied in practice.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Credit: - 80% participation in exercises, - written test. Exam: - oral exam.
