Course content
Lectures: 1) Examination ultrasound probes 2) Doppler representation, basic types of Doppler records 3) Esophageal echocardiography, contrast echocardiography 4) Intracardiac echocardiography, intravascular sonography 5) Ultrasound examination of the arterial and venous system 6) Exercise echocardiography 7) Tissue dopplerometry 8) Three-dimensional echocardiography 9) Echocardiography vs. CT 10) Echocardiography vs. magnetic resonance 11) Echocardiography vs. methods of nuclear medicine 12) Imaging methods in ischemic heart disease 13) Imaging methods in the evaluation of valve defects 14) Imaging methods in other diseases in cardiology Exercises: 1) Doppler, physical principle, signal processing methods 2) Doppler, physical principle, signal processing methods 3) Intracardiac ultrasound probes (ICE), measurement of technical parameters and analysis of technical solution 4) Ultrasound probes (IVUS) for coronarography. 5) Ultrasound probes (IVUS) 6) Radiological methods of diagnostics in cardiology CT, PET, FMR, principles of image processing, 7) Radiological methods of diagnostics in cardiology CT, PET, FMR, 8) Models of tissue phantoms, verification of parameters in sonography 9) Models of tissue phantoms, verification of parameters in sonography 10) Practical demonstration of sonography of the heart and blood system, image processing, image evaluation, individual work 11) Practical example of sonography of the heart and blood system, individual work 12) Practical example of sonography of the heart and blood system, individual work 13) Practical exercises in the electrophysiological laboratory, principles of electrophysiology in examination, sonograsphy 14) Evaluation of individual work, presentation of results

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the evaluation of professional activities in the departments of cardiology, functional diagnostics of blood circulation, echocardiography, intensive cardiological care, invasive cardiology, diagnostics and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias by external or implantable devices.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Combined examination, Practical demonstration of acquired skills

Credit: - 100% participation in exercises, - self-study, - activity in exercises. Exam: - oral exam.
