Course content
Lectures: 1) Introduction 2) Specifics of radiological examination of pediatric patients: musculoskeletal system and axial skeleton 3) Specifics of radiological examination of children: respiratory system and mediastinum, cardiovascular system 4) Specifics of radiological examination of pediatric patients: gastrointestinal tract; urinary tract and retroperitoneum; central nervous system 5) Specifics of radiological examination of children 6) Specifics of use of contrast agents in pediatric patients 7) Special features of radiological examinations of pediatric patients: polytrauma and trauma centers Exercises: 1) Specifics of radiological examination of pediatric patients: locomotive organs and axial skeleton 2) Specifics of radiological examinations of pediatric patients: respiratory system and mediastinum, cardiovascular system 3) Specifics of radiological examinations of children: gastrointestinal tract; urinary tract and retroperitoneum; central nervous system 4) Specifics of radiological examination of children

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The subject acquaints students with special chapters of radiodiagnostics concerning the examination of pediatric patients. The basic factors that distinguish pediatric radiology from adult radiology, special projections specific to this group of patients, and the regime in pediatric radiology workplaces will be discussed. Students will also gain knowledge about contrast agents used in radiology. A special chapter will be devoted to conventional radiological procedures in traumatology and trauma centers.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Oral exam

Classified credit: - self-study, - 80% participation in exercises, - oral exam.
