Course content
Lectures: 1) Introduction to Forensic Medicine 2) Introduction to war medicine 3) Concepts of forensic medicine, basic terms, death, examination and autopsy of the deceased, posthumous changes, vital reactions, determination of the time of death 4) Common causes of sudden death in the field 5) Violence against living persons - biomechanics of wound, blunt, sharp, gunshot wound 6) Traffic accidents, sports injuries, fall injuries 7) Asphyxiation, high and low temperature injuries, pressure changes and ionizing radiation Exercises: 1) External examination of the deceased, evaluation of the development of posthumous changes 2) Course of medical autopsy 3) Coniotomy and introduction of marrow cannula 4) Course and specifics of autopsy

Learning outcomes
Students will acquire knowledge of forensic medicine and will be acquainted with the specifics of the work of paramedics in war conflicts.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Credit: - 80% participation in exercises, - teaching activity, - self-study. Exam: - oral exam.
