Course content
Lectures: 1) Data collection techniques: interview, questionnaire, poll 2) Data collection techniques: observation, casuistry, experiment, study of written texts 3) Quantitative data processing, principles for creating tables and graphs 4) Processing of qualitative data 5) Discussion, conclusions, research report 6) Dissemination of results, written and spoken form 7) Principles for creating scientific articles, lectures and other communications Exercises: 1) Data collection techniques: interview, questionnaire, poll 2) Data collection techniques: observation, casuistry, experiment, study of written texts 3) Quantitative data processing, principles for creating tables and graphs 4) Processing of qualitative data 5) Discussion, conclusions, research report 6) Dissemination of results, written and spoken form 7) Principles for creating scientific articles, lectures and other communications

Learning outcomes
The course is a part of a complex of subjects in the field of professional skills teaching. It makes it possible to understand the need and importance of a scientific approach in the practice of non-medical healthcare professionals. They will learn basic steps of the research process, selection of suitable methods, processing and evaluation of results.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Exam: - 80% participation in exercises, - oral exam.
