Course content
Lectures: 1) Data collection techniques: interview, questionnaire, survey, observation, case study, experiment, study of written texts 2) Processing of quantitative data, principles for compiling tables and graphs 3) Processing of qualitative data 4) Discussions, conclusions, compilation of a research report, dissemination of results, principles for the creation of scientific articles, lectures and other communications Exercises: 1) Data collection techniques 2) Processing of quantitative data, principles for compiling tables and graphs 3) Processing of qualitative data 4) Discussion, conclusions, compilation of research report, dissemination of results

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Lecture, Practicum
Learning outcomes
The course is part of a complex of courses in the field of teaching professional skills. It allows to understand the need and importance of a scientific approach in the practice of non-medical health professionals. They will learn the basic steps of the research process, selection of appropriate methods, processing and evaluation of results.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Exam: - 80% participation in exercises, - oral exam.
