Course content
Lectures: 1) Properties and interactions of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, magnetic field and its detection, summary overview 2) Principles of molecular biophysics (latent states, transport phenomena) 3) Blood circulation and application of molecular biophysics (application of laws to blood circulation and respiration, sedimentation, rheology, shunts, murmurs) 4) Bioacoustics (physical and physiological acoustics, hearing biophysics, ultrasound (ultrasound) and physical properties of ultrasound waves, shock waves) 5) Electrical manifestations of organism (membrane potential, action potential, basics of electrodiagnostic methods, effects of electric current on organism) 6) Bioenergetics (heat loss of organism, therapeutic use of heat, temperature measurement and regulation) 7) Optics (human eye, biophysics of vision), optical devices in diagnostics and therapy 8) Non-ionizing forms of radiation used in therapy, specific biological effects of laser action 9) Mechanisms of biological effect of ionizing radiation, dose-effect relationship, estimation of radiation damage 10) Radiotherapy (radiation disease, stereotactic radiation), early (nondeterministic) and late (stochastic) effects 11) Adjustment of sublethal radiation damage and estimation of tolerance of further irradiation 12) Effect of ionizing radiation on human reproduction, genetic effects of ionizing radiation 13) Pathogenetic forms of acute radiation sickness, prophylaxis and their treatment 14) Late consequences of external and internal contamination by radioactive substances

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The subject acquaints students with the effects of physical factors affecting the human organism, deals with individual biophysical principles of processes and processes with explanation of basic mechanisms of effects on living systems focused on ionizing radiation. The aim is to clarify the radiobiological nature of individual types of external radiation damage and radioactive contamination. Furthermore, it acquaints students with the dependence of biological effect on the type and dose of radiation, dose distribution in time and dose distribution in the body with the importance of repair processes. The course is also focused on forms of acute radiation sickness, risk of chronic radiation sickness, radiation related issues.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.
