Course content
Lectures: 1) Definition of managerial work; basics of managerial thinking and practice; organizational environment; management objectives; strategic planning; planning in action; managerial decision making; dimension of organization and its formation; Human Resources; communication; motivation; leadership, coaching, grouping; chaosmanagement 2) Basic elements of control; behavioral aspects of control; management information systems (MIS); management and production control; adaptive organization and manager, changes 3) Health management, nursing management; structuring managerial positions in health care, managerial skills; internal and external factors affecting current nursing; system approach in management 4) Change management; quality management; standards, audits, accreditation, certification; developing standards in practice; a model for implementing continuous quality improvement; management of information resources in health care; problem solving, critical thinking; planning in nursing, nursing practice 5) Specifics of communication in health care, principles of effective communication, organization of meetings; leadership: leadership styles, techniques of motivation and stimulation, cooperation and competitiveness in a group, possibilities of manager personality development 6) Importance of crisis management in health care; health care tasks in the state security system 7) Population protection in the Czech Republic - tasks of the persons and authorities involved in the protection of the population, measures to protect the population (information, warning the population, individual protection of persons, sheltering, evacuation of persons

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic concepts and procedures in the management of health care facilities.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.
