Course content
Lectures: 1) Introduction to health management, management goals, management in nursing, dimension of organization and its formation, organizational environment, team leadership, coaching, leadership 2) Definition of managerial work, decision making, managerial skills, communication, specifics of communication in healthcare 3) Process management, project management, failure to provide health care 4) Personnel management, motivation, problem solving and critical thinking 5) Quality management, continuous quality improvement, accreditation, certification, standards and audits 6) Economic aspects of management in nursing, structure, management and operation of health service providers Exercises: 1) Assertive techniques, evaluation of organizational culture, strategic plans 2) Errors in nursing practice (causes and roots of errors, ways of preventing errors) 3) Continuous quality improvement program (quality of care indicators), practical development of nursing standards 4) Practical implementation of process audits, project management (project design) 5) Keeping of documents and documents in the reporting of performance

Learning outcomes
The course is designed as a theoretical-practical unit. It acquaints with the basic principles of the operation of health care facilities, including financial, material and human resources management, by creating quality management strategies in health and social care systems. It applies the theoretical basis of management and personnel management to the management and management of nursing care and nursing staff. Students will get acquainted with the theory of quality management, methods of developing standards of nursing care and methods of audit activities.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.
