Course content
1. Introduction to ethics, bioethics, health and medicine ethics. 2. Basic terms of general ethics: moral, law, today problems. 3. Basic terms of general ethics: good and evil, values, norms, ethic code. 4. Basic terms of general ethics: freedom, conscience, responsibility. 5. Basic terms of general ethics: humanism, tolerance, dignity. 6. Basic terms of general ethics: social ethics. 7. History of health and medicine ethics, main sources. 8. Relationship of law to health and medicine ethics. 9. Human rights, ethic codes, ethic committee, informed consent, instructed patient. 10. Ethic problems of beginning of life. 11. Ethic problems of end of life, death, euthanasia, palliative care, hospice. 12. Ethics of research. 13. Communication with patient. 14. Ethic problems in particular branches. 14. Summary.

Learning activities and teaching methods

Learning outcomes
In the course, students will first focus on general bioethics, its terminology, procedures and basic theoretical approaches. The seminars will proceed from the acquisition of general expertise in the field of bioethics, especially to their application to selected problematic areas of biomedical disciplines. During the final seminars, the ability to connect these selected problematic phenomena with a broader social context will be practiced. In addition to this expertise, students will be guided throughout the course to develop the ability to critically analyze the moral dilemmas of bioethics and ethics in the biomedical fields.
The students will acknowledge themselves with the informations acording to the goal and the matter of the course.

Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.
