Knitting to shape (fashioning), principles, possibilities and rules with using the CAD software. 14. Principle and possibilities of narrowing with bind-off on the V-bed rib flat machines (with using the CAD software). Practices: 1. Structural (construction) parameters of weft knitted fabric. 2. Notation of the weft knitted fabric with using the CAD software. 3. Conditions and machine parameter settings of the design fabric for V-bed rib flat machines (with using the CAD software) in knitting laboratory. 4. Machine data preparation for knitting machine and their execution. Control and simulation of the designed pattern before knitting. 5. Data correction and machine output. Realization of designed pattern with V-bed rib flat machines. 6. Influence of the loop fabric construction on their knitted fabric properties (sample calculation for integral knitting). 7. - 8. Design and realization of own weft jacquard knitted structures (CAD software). 9. - 12. Design and realization of own weft knitted structures with shaping or binding-off with using CAD software. 13. - 14. Realization of own design pattern of weft knitted fabric. Learning outcomes |
This subject follows on the subject Knitting. In the course the student obtains knowledge about the possibility of construction of threads in the weft knitting fabrics, the structure and patterning. Gradually, the structural and geometric characteristics of knitted fabrics are analyzed with regard to patterning with the needle function (miss, float and tuck) including the jacquard knitted patterning using CAD systems, and the effect of this patterning on the properties of the knitted fabrics. Furthermore, the possibility of producing knitted goods (products), special - fast starting courses and finishing (linking) directly in the machine for knitting machines with individual needle selection.
Basic orientation in the area of weft knitted patterning for clothing and technical applications. Specification and analysis of knitting structures, possibility of their production on the V-bed rib flat machines. Basic knowledge of design and pattern creation and patterning in CAD system for V-bed rib flat machines (patterning possibilities, shaping (fashioning) and production of knitted goods). |
Prerequisites |
Basic knowledge of knitting principles and knitting structures at the level of subject Knitting.
