Course content
Lectures: 1) Introduction to information systems and introduction to Microsoft Office programs Word, Excel, PowerPoint 2) Hospital information system, Radiological information system 3) Computer networks and their architecture, client architecture, the most frequently applied OS in healthcare IS; database systems and their role in NIS 4) Information system security; encryption, digital signature, work with certificates, provider's website health services; security testing tools Exercises: 1) Introduction to the subject; introduction to Microsoft Office programs Word, Excel, PowerPoint 2) Hospital information systems, radiological information system 3) Medicus information system, AKORD information system (hospitalization, ambulance) 4) Media for health records, certificates, security mechanisms, security programs

Learning outcomes
The content of the course is the methodology of planning and implementation of information technology in health care. The course mainly deals with hospital information systems (HIS), facility management, PACS, DICOM, electronic archive, data storage, and outsourcing. Essential topics are the security and protection of sensitive data; data communication standards.
The student will become familiar with the methodology of planning and implementation of information technology applications in the healthcare sector.
