Learning outcomes
|
The course aims to introduce students to the principles, forms, and specifics of communication in healthcare settings. Emphasis is placed on developing effective interpersonal communication skills, understanding nonverbal communication, assertiveness, and empathy in interactions with patients, healthcare teams, and colleagues. Students will learn to recognize and appropriately respond to various communication barriers, including those arising from age, disability, or emotional distress.
After completing the course, students will be able to: Apply fundamental principles of verbal and nonverbal communication in healthcare contexts. Demonstrate assertive and empathetic communication with patients and colleagues. Communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Adapt communication strategies to the specific needs of children, seniors, and patients with disabilities. Reflect critically on communication challenges in healthcare and propose appropriate solutions. Apply professional communication skills relevant to the work of a radiological assistant.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Essay
Requirements for students: At least 80% attendance and active participation in seminars. Submission of an essay focused on critical reflection on problematic aspects of communication in healthcare.
