This course addresses the urgent need to embrace digitalization and cutting-edge technologies for improved patient care. The future of healthcare is digital. As healthcare becomes increasingly reliant on digital tools, professionals must adapt swiftly. In today's healthcare landscape, Innovation in Healthcare is paramount. Physicians, nurses, technicians, and engineers must master these tools to deliver quality care effectively. For students entering the field, understanding innovation is crucial. This course serves as a vital bridge to a future where innovation drives transformative change in healthcare delivery. The effective adoption of digital tools, new technologies, and innovations in diagnostics, communication among healthcare professionals as well as with patients, and their use in patient care are necessary for their effective functioning and positive impact in delivery of care.
This dynamic course enhances professional research skills by integrating scientific methods with healthcare innovation. Students gain essential competencies in method selection, experiment design, and result dissemination, supported by real-world examples from ongoing healthcare projects. The curriculum emphasizes patient-centered care, ethical considerations, and the use of digital tools such as AI, virtual reality, digital therapeutics, and living labs. Through mentorship, students develop strategic proposals, pilot innovative solutions, and evaluate their business potential. The course builds on evidence-based practice and fosters critical thinking, creativity, and soft skills like communication, presentation, and negotiation within multidisciplinary teams. Research outcomes are expected to inform personalized care plans, reinforcing the link between clinical experience and scientific inquiry. The course aligns with the Czech National Recovery Plan (December 2022) and supports strategic development in healthcare education, in line with EU standards.
