Course content

Lectures: Pharmacology 1) Characteristics of the field, definition of medicine, medicines, names of medicines, dosage forms, MS. pharmacopoeia; prescription and prescription of drugs; general pharmacology ? pharmacokinetics; significance for drug administration, methods of drug administration, pharmacodynamics; mechanism of drug effects, types of therapy; drug dosage; drug interaction, drug addiction. 2) Drugs affecting the CNS - overview; general anesthetics, hypnotics, antiepileptics; overview of psychotropic drugs and drugs for degenerative diseases. 3) Medicines used in pain therapy; pharmacological procedures in influencing pain; drugs affecting the peripheral nervous system; local anesthetics, muscle relaxants. 4) Medicines affecting the heart and blood vessels; antihypertensives, heart failure drugs and other groups; diuretics; blood substitutes, infusion solutions with electrolytes. 5) Overview of drugs affecting the respiratory system; antiasthmatic, antitussive, expectorant. 6) Overview of drugs affecting the gastrointestinal tract; antispasmodics, antacids, antiulcer, etc. 7) Medicines affecting the endocrine system; insulin; oral antidiabetic drugs; steroid hormones; antibiotics and anti-infective chemotherapeutics; antiseptics and disinfectants; overview of anticancer drugs; erectile dysfunction, drugs used in ophthalmology and the use of drugs in special groups of patients - i.e. in pregnancy, breastfeeding, children and the elderly. Toxicology 8) General toxicology - basic terms, mechanism of action of poisons; diagnostics including the basics of chemical investigation methods in toxicology and first aid in case of intoxication, antidote. 9) Special toxicology: inorganic poisons, organic poisons (industrial); substances of biological origin (plant and animal poisons), pharmacological preparations; substances of abuse and drug addiction. 10) Recapitulation.

General and clinical pharmacology introduces basic knowledge from the field of general and clinical pharmacology, on which other subject areas follow. The content is general pharmacology, an overview of drug groups used in medicine including their indications, contraindications, dosage and side effects and the use of pharmacology in practice, as well as shows for interlinking with other specialist subjects such as morphology and pathology.
The student will acquire knowledge of general pharmacology, an overview of drug groups used in medicine, including their indications, contraindications, dosage and side effects, and the use of pharmacology in practice.

Credit : . self study . 80% attendance at lectures Exam: . one question from the field of general pharmacology and one question from the field of pharmacology . basic familiarization with the issue, basic division of drug groups, basic mechanisms of action, most common side effects, contraindications and iterations is required
