Lectures: 1) Connection of structure and function in the human organism, from atom to molecule, cell, cell organelles to organs; biological membranes, characteristics of cell membranes and mechanisms involved in the transport of substances through membranes; principles of physiological functions, basics of regulation in the organism; internal environment and homeostasis. 2) Blood; function of blood cells, types of blood cells, blood groups, blood clotting, defense functions of the organism. 3) Breathing; relationship between breathing and other vital functions, characteristics of lung capacity volumes, measurement possibilities; center of respiration. 4) Circulatory system as a dynamic means of homeostasis; external manifestations of cardiac activity, cardiac revolution, work and performance of the heart, electrical activity of the heart, ECG; basic issues of hemodynamics, regulation of the activity of the cardiovascular system, blood pressure, regulation of the activity of the cardiovascular system, peculiarities of blood flow in the lungs and brain. 5) Digestive system; connection of anatomy, physiology and biochemistry of digestive enzymes, regulatory function of digestive system hormones; physiology of metabolism, general principles of metabolism, metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins, management of food intake, principles of proper nutrition, role of vitamins, minerals and trace elements. 6) Excretory systems of the organism; maintaining the constancy of the internal environment by the kidneys; functional kidney morphology, urine production; reproduction and development; reproductive physiology. 7) Humoral regulation; physiology of endocrine gland function. 8) Autonomic nervous system. 9) Motor and executive functions in the organism; movement system, muscle function, biochemistry of muscle contraction. 10) Neurophysiology; general neurophysiology, functional morphology; central nervous system; highest nervous functions; integrative functions of the CNS, senses. Exercises: 1) Blood: Sedimentation of red blood cells, Whole blood, plasma, serum, hemocoagulation, determination of blood group. 2) Cardiovascular system: blood pressure measurement, palpation of pulse, heart sounds, ECG. 3) Respiratory system: X-ray S+P, Spirometry, Determination of SpO2. 4) Nervous system + sensory: basic reflexes, basics of EEG, visual field, extent of blind spot. 5) Body composition + nutrition: anthropocentric examination, measurement of body fat, muscle mass, determination of energy expenditure, basics of proper nutrition.
