Exercises: 1) Theoretical framework of social communication, communication in health care 2) Verbal communication 3) Nonverbal communication 4) Indirect communication circumstances 5) Fundamentals of student communication and their preparation for difficult communication situations 6) Communication process 7) Meaning of the senses in communication 8) Communication-demanding patient 9) Model situations of the communication process 10) Communication from the perspective of developmental psychology 11) Silent communication partner 12) Pros and cons of haptics 13) Analysis of communication-demanding situations 14) Communication errors

Learning outcomes
It acquaints students with the theoretical framework of social communication, including communication in health care. The course focuses on the basics of student communication and their preparation for demanding communication situations. The student will be acquainted with procedures in communication-demanding situations.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Practical demonstration of acquired skills

Classified credit: - 80% participation in exercises, - mastering practical exercises, - making a presentation, - oral exam.
