Course content
Lectures: 1) Basic Latin and Greek vocabulary from the field of medical terminology with an emphasis on nouns and adjectives, Latin prepositions and numerals. 2) Formation and meaning of Latin and Greek prefixes and suffixes. 3) Understanding multi-word compounds. 4) Syndication of professional terms into larger units. 5) Declension of nouns and adjectives.

Learning outcomes
The course introduces the basics of Latin and Greek terminology and medical terminology, which is a basic requirement for the study of other specialized subjects. The aim of the course is to orientate in medical text and speech. Students will acquire knowledge of Latin and Greek medical terminology and will be able to understand Latin medical texts in medical documentation.
Students will acquire knowledge of Latin and Greek medical technical terminology and will be able to understand professional Latin medical texts within medical documentation.
